Betty's Blue Star Lounge
Neighborhood: West Town - 1600 W. Grand Ave. Chicago, IL 60622
During evening hours, this spacious dwelling offers a low-key vibe within its lounge-like environment. However, at the stroke of the bewitching hour, Betty's Blue Star Lounge morphs into a raucous, after-hours scene. Blue neon befittingly highlights the tavern, which also features clamshell-shaped booths and overstuffed sofas. Complete with a pool table, the interior's exposed brick walls, hardwood floors and elongated bar adhere to typical Chicagoan watering holes. However, this haunt is also equipped with a dance floor and impressive sound system, as DJs and live bands provide the music.
Outdoor Beer Garden (NEW) and Street Patio (NEW) great for the warmer months!
Delilahs - Lincoln Park
2771 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614
Mike Miller has possibly created the most fun, eclectic bar in town. Five nights a week, a different DJ spins a different style of music. Typically, Monday is punk, Tuesday features a guest DJ, Wednesday is country/western, and Sunday is lounge. Sunday is especially memorable, as the lounge music is classic Sinatra and Sammy Davis recordings. As you dig on the sounds, you can choose from one of the city's largest selection of liquors, both fine and, for the less well off, not so fine. There are over 300 liquors to choose from, as well as over 75 beers. Upstairs, there is a smaller bar with games and a pool table.

Kingston Mines - Sheffield / De Paul
2548 N Halsted Chicago, IL 60614
A Chicago blues institution that encourages its patrons to &hear the blues, drink booze and talk loud,& Kingston Mines is a prime site forviewing celebrities out for a night on the town. With 35 years in the business, and a multitude of blues clubs following in its wake, the Mines feels like an elder statesman -- albeit a somewhat eccentric, rough-edged statesman. After an ambitious recent expansion, it now encompasses three storefronts and a kitchen. Two stages in adjoining rooms present nonstop blues all night long (anticipate a round of musical chairs at the end of every set, as the crowd scrambles over to the other side). The Mines is the only blues haunt with a 4 a.m. license (5 a.m. on Saturday) -- meaning you might bump into your favorite blues artists relaxing after they complete their own gigs, and the crowd can be a bit boisterous after 2 a.m., when patrons migrate in from other establishments. J.W. Williams often holds down the fort on weekdays, while well-known names such as A.C. Reed, Jimmy Johnson, Eddie C. Campbell and Billy Branch star on weekends on the main stage. An array of souvenirs is displayed near the door. If you don't like what you hear here, B.L.U.E.S. is directly across the street.
