Andy's Jazz CLub

These Jazz Sessions originally were scheduled once a week, every Friday at noon. After a short while the response was so positive that the saloon expanded the Friday Jazz At Noon Sessions to include Friday Jazz at 5%u2026Andy%u2019s Jazz Club was born. The Jazz soon expanded to 5 days a week, with music being performed both during the lunch hour and for the after work crowd. Jazz At 5 in turn expanded to Jazz at 9, bringing the club to our performance pinnacle of 3 full bands every day of the week %u2013 noon, 5pm & 9pm. Over the past 30 years the area has continued to expand and grow to the trendy hub it has now become. Times change and Andy%u2019s has altered its musical offerings to meet with those new demands of its avid customers. While the Jazz At Noon may be taking a much needed hiatus and is no longer offered, Jazz At 5 & Jazz At 9 are still very much Alive!

Our ultra lounge covers two floors of a 7,500-square-foot space and features vestiges of the good life from ancient cultures, such as Han Dynasty masks and French chandeliers. The 20' by 20' projection screen and the FunktionOne sound system make our venue unique from all other in Chicago. Since its opening in June of %u201889, Buddy Guy%u2019s Legends has built a reputation as the nation%u2019s premier blues club. Mr. Guy%u2019s personal reputation as the crowned king of Chicago%u2019s electric blues scene and his 50+ years in the music business have made Buddy truly a legend himself. As a blues club, Legends is distinguished for its innovative scheduling of local, national, and international blues acts. In the nineteen years that Legends has been open, the stage has been graced by some of the world%u2019s most talented musicians. Van Morrison, Willie Dixon, Albert Collins, Bo Diddley, The Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes, Dr. John, Lou Rawls, David Bowie, ZZ Top, Junior Wells, Slash, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Greg Allman, and The Pointer Sisters are just a few examples of the talent that has graced the stage. Buddy Guy himself takes the stage every January, selling out over a dozen shows year after year, delighting crowds that have traveled from all over the world. While the Legends stage has played host to a myriad of true blues legends, the walls themselves talk, filled with pieces of Buddy%u2019s and blues history. Where else can blues fans find original art work painted on the wall, records, rare photos and Grammys, along with personal items from some of the world%u2019s most influential performers? You%u2019ll see Koko Taylor%u2019s evening gown from 1957; two of Buddy Guy%u2019s Grammys and his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame statue; a photo of Buddy, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan taken at Vaughan%u2019s final concert. A world-renowned collection of guitars can be found over the main bar, signed by B.B. King, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, as well as Jimmy and Stevie Ray Vaughan. In November 1994, Eric Clapton graced the stage with three sold-out performances. The unprecedented concerts awed the crowd as Clapton called up Otis Rush to jam and nodded to the Who%u2019s Pete Townsend, who had stopped by to take in the show. Legends truly lives up to its name. There is only one place in Chicago to experience the finest blues seven nights a week, enjoy southern Cajun soul food and behold a major archive of blues memorabilia. With its bright-lights marquee and affordable menu, Union Park attracts a crowd of young professionals looking for a much-needed place to kick back amidst the West Loop scene (which used to be called Union Park). Billing itself as an upscale sports lounge, this bar-restaurant comes from the group behind Grand Central, Bar Celona and SoPo. The decor's a throwback to old-school Chicago with its classic white-tiled columns, marble bar and Tiffany-esque light fixtures, but the 15 plasma screen TVs bring you back to the present. The martini list offers classic choices and the Union Blue (Skyy citrus, blue curacau and citrus juices) for a mere $6, and bottled and draft beers run $3-$4. You can also grab some sangria by the glass or pitcher. Looking for a late-night nosh? A full menu's available 'til midnight, but you can order lighter fare 'til close. Choose from a selection of paninis or bar food with a flair, such as zucchini corn quesadillas, spinach portabella artichoke dip or park ribs.
